Special Meeting
Minutes of the Special Meeting held on Thursday, April 29th, 2010 to discuss the Proposed Budget Mayor Thomas G. Coates opened the Workshop at 7:09 P.M.

The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Clerk read the notice:
A Special Meeting for Board Members will be held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands in the Municipal Building of such Village on Thursday, April 29th, 2010 at 6:30 P.M.
The Mayor led a discussion concerning the response to the NYS Comptrollers Office. Trustee Lansing moved seconded by Trustee Lane a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign the letter. The Clerk will have the letter available for signature tomorrow and will mail it or hand deliver it as required.
The Mayor led a discussion concerning the Preliminary Budget the Board reviewed suggested changes from Trustee Lansing and from Trustee Grenier, and after a discussion Trustee Miller moved seconded by Trustee Lane a resolution to amend the budget with the following changes:

A.3410.0421 ($ 4,000.00)
A.3620.0400 ($ 5,000.00)

Trustee Lansing moved a resolution to return the sponsorship money for the concerts until we have a concert policy in place. A letter from the Mayor apologizing that the previous letter was premature and that we are working on a policy.

There was a discussion concerning the concerts in the park and that funding needed to be added to the Budget if we are going to have them.
Trustee Miller moved to approve the Budget with the previous mentioned amendments and add $5,100.00 to the Celebrations account A.7550.0400 to cover the cost of some of the concerts in the park. The motion was seconded by Trustee Lane.

Trustee Miller moved to approve the Preliminary Budget with the previously identified changes without the additional money for the concerts. The motion was seconded by Trustee Lane.

Trustee Lansing offered a motion to approve the Preliminary Budget less his proposed amendments of $202,500.00 (attached) motion seconded by Trustee Grenier.

A motion was made by Trustee Lansing seconded by Trustee Grenier to adjourn.
