Regular Village Board Meeting November 2, 2009
The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands, held on November 2nd, 2009 was called to order by Deputy Mayor Timothy A. Lane at 7:00 P.M.

Also attending: Bill Garvey, Paul Cooney, Peter Molinaro, Peggy Kelly, Mike Steurer, David Ognan, David LaFleur, Brad Galloda.
The Deputy Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Deputy Mayor Lane announced that the Board of Fire Commissioners has approved the slate of Chief Officers proposed by the Fire Company due to the resignation of Fire Chief Aric Shelton. The Chief is now Richard Ognan, 1st Asst Chief Don Handerhan and 2nd Asst Chief is Brian Franklin.
Fire Company president Pete Molinaro inquired if the Board was able to locate the funds they requested to help pay for renovations in the kitchen of the fire hall. After a discussion Trustee Grenier moved, seconded by Trustee Miller a resolution authorizing the Village to pay for 50% of the cost of the kitchen renovations not to exceed $30,000 from the contingency account. No expenditures can be made before the final plans are projected costs and copies of the BIDS and insurance papers are received and approved by the Clerk – Treasurer and the Board of Trustees.

Trustee Grenier thanked the Fire Department for all the help they provided at the Halloween affair at the Farmers Market on Saturday. Preliminary indications are the party and parade was a success.
A motion was made by Trustee Lansing, seconded by Trustee Grenier, to accept the minutes of the October 19th, 2009 meeting.

A motion was made by Trustee Lansing, seconded by Trustee Grenier, to approve payment for the following:
WARRANT # 11
GENERAL totaling $30,971.24
WATER totaling 3,187.06
SEWER totaling .00
TOTAL $34,158.30
PAYROLL # 11 totaling $74,129.12

Trustee Lansing reviewed the Web Site Committee’s charge and the two proposals that were received. (See attached)
Virtual Town Hall $4,995
Consortium of BAM Graphics/
Warped-Minds Consulting $4,000
After which Trustee Lansing advised the Board that the Committee’s recommendation is the Consortium of BAM Graphics/Warped-Minds. After which Trustee Lansing moved seconded by Trustee Miller a resolution accepting the proposal from BAM Graphics/Warped Minds to upgrade the Village’s Web Site.

Trustee Miller advised everyone that the Menands Rotary was looking for ideas for a community project in Menands that they could help with. If anyone knows of any please contact him.
The Clerk inquired about the Annual Christmas Party for employees, retired employees and their guests after a discussion it was agreed the party would be Thursday, December, 17th from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M.
A motion was made by Trustee Lansing, seconded by Trustee Grenier, to adjourn.
