BETHANY’S 150TH ANNIVERSARY
On Sunday, September 13th, Bethany Presbyterian Church celebrated its 150th Anniversary. Pastor Shannon Meacham was joined by former pastors John Sisley and Eric Fagans for a special worship service commemorating the event. All present at the service met for a group photo, copies of which will be sent to former pastors and members who were unable to be here for the celebration. After the service all adjourned to Ganser-Smith Park for a luncheon catered by Poppy’s Place. Schuyler Pastry Shop provided a beautiful photo cake with pictures of the original and current church. Friends of Bethany from the village and Menands School joined us for the luncheon. Lunch was followed by a short program, which included a history of Bethany Presbyterian read by Jim Lemire. Much of the history was written by Nicole Collen. Members of the congregation read letters from former pastors who were unable to attend. Pastors Sisley and Fagans also shared memories of their respective stays at Bethany. Thanks to all who joined us for our celebration
