COMMUNITY ADVISORY – FOX SIGHTINGS

We have had several reports of red fox sightings throughout the Village this Spring.  Accordingly, we are recommending that residents take proper care that trash and trash receptacles on or near their properties are secure and to make sure that garage doors remain down in so far as practical to prevent unwanted intrusions by these animals.

If you see a fox in your neighborhood, please contact the Village Office at 434-2922 or by e-mail at villageofmenands@hotmail.com.

The Village has checked with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and we have been advised that the animals are most active during the Spring and early Summer.  You can review DEC’s profile on the following website: http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/9354.html or you can pick up a copy at the Village Office.
