711 Emergency Committee - Standard Operating Procedure

Scene Command calls Menands Dispatcher to activate 711Emergency with MFD Ladies Auxiliary

  • Menands Dispatcher pulls Ladies Auxiliary 711 Contact list – call is placed to Chair if no answer then contact the Ladies Auxiliary President.
  • Dispatcher will communicate type of assistance needed:
    • Structure fire (5-6 hours)– make food for men
    • Hazmat Spill – just water and/or coffee
    • Major Traffic Accident
    • Other

Dispatcher will also monitor situation of a long duration call to determine if additional support will be needed from Ladies Auxiliary.

  • Dispatcher will relay if items should be brought to scene and who to report to.
  • 711 Chair will start Call tree
  • Members will be instructed to report to Firehouse to begin preparation if needed.
  • Mutual aid calls – if additional help is needed Auxiliary should reach out to sister companies.
    • Shaker Road
    • Schuyler Heights
    • Ladies Auxiliary will develop a Stock item list for staples to be kept in the store room to use as necessary.
    • Fire Company will purchase the food – Ladies Auxiliary will keep stock up to date.  Create a replenishment list – as something is used so it will be replaced to keep items on hand.  Coordinate list with Fire Company House Chairman. Budget for these items is $200.00
    • Fire Company will provide the Ladies Auxiliary with reflective vests to be worn by auxiliary members who will transport items to scene.
    • Ladies Auxiliary members should report to scene commander or fire police to drop items off at designated area.
    • Coffee Carafe and coolers will be kept in the storage room for use to transport items needed.
    • Fire Company Liaison is responsible to return any items to the store room from scene.
