TRASH SCHEDULE

Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

The Village Office, Village Court and D.P.W. will be closed on Thursday, November 25th for Thanksgiving.  There will be no recycling pick up on Thursday, November 25th.  Thursday’s recycling pick up will be on Wednesday, November 24th.  Friday’s pick up remains unchanged.  There will be NO Special Pick Up during this week.

LEAF MACHINE

The DPW will pick up leaves that are raked on the edge of the road/street (DPW cannot pickup leaves not on the street) thru Friday, December 3rd – weather permitting.   Mulched leaves and grass should be bagged.  Branches, limbs, etc. should be cut in 3 ft. lengths.  We do NOT accept any dirt in the biodegradable bags.  Please remember that it takes DPW anywhere from 7 to 14 days to go thru the Village depending on the amount of leaves at the side of the road.

ALERT TO OUR RESIDENTS

As a public service announcement, Cell Phone Numbers will be going public this month to telemarketing companies.  You will be charged for these calls and you will start to receive sales calls.  To prevent this, call 1-888-382-1222.  It is the National Do Not Call List.  This will block your cell phone number permanently and registering stops most but not all unsolicited telemarketing sales calls.  You must call from the cell phone number you want to be blocked.  You cannot call from a different phone number.

“FILL THE MAYFLOWER”

Our annual fund drive, to support local food pantries, will take place the weekend of November 20th.  “Menands Cares” volunteers will drop off bags on Saturday, November 20th , and return to your residence on Sunday, November 21st , to pick them up. Thank you for your support.  Any questions please contact Meg Grenier at 463-5196.

SPECIAL THANKS

The youth organization would like to give a special thanks to the Nugent Family for their wonderful job decorating the majority of the park.  Thank you to the Menands Firemen for leading the parade, cooking the hot dogs and driving the hayride around town.  I would also like to thank Meg Grenier, Bill Smith, Nick DiBiase, The Menands Police Department, The Menands Farmers Market and the counselors!  Without all of your help the Halloween Party would not have been a success.
