On behalf of the Village Board, I would like to wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year. As I look back on 2011 and ahead to 2012, there have been a number of developments in Menands that I would like to share with you.

Hurricane Irene

With Hurricane Irene behind us, I would like to thank the people of the Village of Menands for their cooperation during this storm. It was a difficult time for many residents. Your patience and understanding was appreciated while our emergency crews worked diligently to assure the safety of us all. A special thank you to the Public Works, Fire and Police Departments for their professionalism and dedication to our Village.

Economic and Infrastructure Development

We have started the process of focusing the Village on economic development. Changes were made to the budget that enable the Village to hire appropriate personnel, an unnecessary board was eliminated, and infrastructure replacement moves forward. In addition, a street paving program is being compiled. The budget increase was under three percent. We look forward to hearing from you!
