Yes, simply contact the Police Department with the dates and times involved
and the specifics about vehicles in driveway- any caretakers authorized and
any lights left on, timers etc. . Notify us upon your return.
Ø Does the Department have a D.A.R.E. Program?
Yes, Officer Andrew Cohen is the Menands Police member assigned to
Administer this program at Menands School.
Ø Does the Police Department enforce parking regulations within the village?
Yes, all Officers are instructed to take action on observed violations of both
State and Local parking regulations, during the course of their patrols.
Ø How do I get a copy of an Automobile Accident report?
Simply stop at the Police Offices in Village Hall and a copy will be provided
to you for your interaction with your insurance company. A report is usually
available the next day after the accident is reported.
Ø How many Officers are employed by the Menands Police?
There is one full-time Chief and nine full-time Officers as well as four
Part-time Officers to supplement patrol coverage.
Ø How many calls for service does the Department handle per month?
Typically anywhere from 600 to 700 calls which include Burglar alarms,
Accidents, assaults, domestic calls, EMS calls, Larceny etc. and non-criminal
Investigations.

Menands Police are on duty and available for response 24 hours a day, 7
Days a week, 365 days per year as a full service Department.
