VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
The Village Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2007. All meetings are open to the public and are handicapped accessible.
BUILDING PERMITS REQUIRED
Please call the Village Building Inspector at 434-2922 if you are planning any construction projects; pool, and roof or shed installation, etc. Be advised it takes approximately one week from receiving an application to the issuance of a building permit.
DOG COMPLAINTS
The Village Office is once again receiving complaints concerning dogs running loose and leaving “deposits” on resident’s lawns. There is a leash law as well as a “pooper scooper” law in the Village. Tickets will be issued and fines will be assessed to violators.
TOWN OF COLONIE LANDFILL
Town of Colonie 2007 household hazardous drop-off waste dates are Sept. 12 and Oct. 3 (4 p.m. – 7 p.m.) You must pre-register by calling 1-800-494-2273. Information available at Village Hall or call 783-2827.

MENANDS SENIOR CITIZENS
Come join us for fun, history and some mini mysteries on August 27th. Do something you have never done before. You will feel like a kid again. It’s old, historic and has been around almost 200 years. It’s near the railroad, but not on it. We will find out how high it is. The cost is $35. Contact Arnold at 869-3020 or Ken at 434-0916. More clues to follow in later activities.
How about joining us on Wed., September 19th and go to Otesaga Hotel for one of their fabulous buffets and then a tour of Cooperstown? We also go on a boat tour of the Erie Canal. Have you ever been thru a Canal Lock? We will also have time to shop at the Gems on the Mohawk. This is a boutique shop that sells the hand made products of over 65 local craft people. Contact Pat at 436-8772 or Marge at 434-2759 to attend this great trip. The price for this trip is only $35. The payment deadline is September 6th . The bus will leave at 7:45 a.m.

MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Annual John Weidman Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on September 14th, at Burden Lake Country Club. Proceeds will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The cost per golfer is $90. which includes; golf, cart, breakfast, dinner, and door prize. Registration and breakfast are between 9:00 AM and 9:45 AM followed by a 10:00 AM shotgun start. Dinner will follow in the clubhouse along with awards and raffles. Please make check payable to The John Weidman Memorial Tournament and mail to John Murphy at 250 Broadway, Menands, NY 12204. CONGRATULATIONS!
Albany Broadcasting’s Public Affairs program “Albany Street” received an “Excellence in Broadcasting” award at this summer’s annual New York State Broadcaster’s Conference at the Sagamore Hotel in Lake George. The program written, produced and hosted by Public Affairs Director Joe Condon airs Sunday mornings on WROW-AM-590, Albany, WYJB-FM-(B-95-5), Albany, and WIZR-AM-930, Amsterdam/Johnstown/Gloversville.
This is Condon’s 17th New York State Broadcasters Association “Excellence in Broadcasting” award. Network Broadcaster Barbara Walters presented the award to Mr. Condon.
