DOG COMPLAINTS
The Village Office is once again receiving complaints concerning dogs running loose and leaving “deposits” on resident’s lawns.  There is a leash law as well as a “pooper scooper”  law in the Village.  Tickets will be issued and fines will be assessed to violators.

MENANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief O’Brien wants to remind residents that, now that the summer recess has begun, to secure bicycles and other property and not to leave anything lying around in the yard where it may be accessible.  There have been some non-resident youths wandering through the Village attempting to steal bicycles.  Patrols have been successful in preventing a recent attempt, but residents should be alert for any suspicious activity and report same IMMEDIATELY to the Police Department.

SPOTLIGHT ON MENANDS BUSINESS
Our feature business for this month is Save-More Wines and Liquors.
Save-More Wines and Liquors, located at 444 Broadway, Menands, in the Price Chopper Plaza, is celebrating its 30th  year in business this year.  A family owned business, it was founded by David Brokaw in 1977 and is currently operated by David’s daughter, Shannon Briscoe.  Shannon has been with the store for 22 years and has operated it for the past 18 years.
The store is staffed by ten part-time employees in helping Shannon take care of customers with particular emphasis on customer service and satisfaction.  Save-More features a wide variety of wines and liquors from domestic and foreign producers.  Shannon and her staff are well versed in the vintages they sell and are always happy to assist customers with matching the perfect wine or cordial for any occasion.
Special orders are available for customers who might have a particular brand in mind or might want a rare wine that is not generally stocked.  The expertise that Shannon and her staff have can be most helpful to customers that may be looking to try a new wine or cordial.
An example of this expertise is Shannon’s recent attendance at an International Show in Dusseldorf, Germany featuring vodkas and wines from around the world.  Participation in these types of events help Save-More Wines and Liquors provide customers with a unique knowledge of their purchases.
Another feature of the business is a well-maintained customer card-catalogue of favorite wines and liquors so that individuals are always assured of having their particular favorites in stock.  This is just one example of the welcoming and customer-focused atmosphere of Save-More Wines and Liquors.
Save-More is open from Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 9 PM and is open on Sundays during the Holiday Season.  Please be sure to stop by and see Shannon and her staff for your selections or call them at 449-8436.
