VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
The Village Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2006. All meetings are open to the public and handicapped accessible.

MENANDS SENIOR CITIZENS
Monday, April 17, 2006 the Club will take a trip to the Turning Stone Casino for a show titled “Star Spangled Sprung” and lunch. Cost is $26.00. Bus will leave Bethany at 8:00 a.m. For reservations, please call Flora Caswell at 434-0916.
Tuesday, May 23, 2006 the club will have a trip to the Log Cabin for a lobster bake with entertainment provided by the Riverboat Ramblers. Cost - $48.00. Bus will leave Bethany at 9:00 a.m. For reservations, please call Arnold Hamm at 869-3020.
Don’t forget senior weekly meetings every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bethany. Come and join your friends – we are sure you will have a good time.

LENTEN SOUP SALE
Bethany Presbyterian Church will once again be offering soup for sale during the Lenten season. On Friday, April 7th, Corn Chowder, as well as Turkey Vegetable, will be available. One quart of soup costs $3.75. Small loaves of homemade bread will also be available at $1.25 per loaf. To reserve a quantity of soup, you may call Jean Lamere at 462-9827, or fill out a coupon available at the church, or drop in on April 7th. Soup will be available for pick up between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
EASTER PARTY
The annual Village Easter party will be held on Saturday, April 8th at the Ganser Smith Park from 10– 11 a.m. (rain or shine). The Easter Egg Hunt will start promptly at 10:15 a.m. DON’T BE LATE!! Make sure you bring an Easter Basket to collect your eggs. The Easter Bunny will be there so don’t forget your cameras!! There will be bagels, cookies, coffee and juice so come hungry and ready to find some eggs!! AS ALWAYS, VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED; please call Heather at 432-8521.

Menands Library - Spring Film Series Presents KATHARINE HEPBURN. The following films will be shown on Tuesday’s at 1:30 p.m. until May 23rd. at the Menands Public Library:

BEAUTIFICATION MEETING
There will be a meeting on Thursday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. at 72 Menand Road. The topics will be Fund Raising ideas and Village Clean-up.
MENANDS ROTARY OFFERS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
The Rotary Club of Menands is offering a $250 scholarship to a Menands resident who will graduate high school this June and attend college next fall. Applications are available at the Village Office and Menands School. Completed Applications must be received by May 1st, in an envelope marked to Ron Miller and left at Village Office. MENANDS ROTARY OFFERING
BOATER’S SAFETY COURSE
NYS now requires a full-day training course for all persons to be using a personal watercraft. Rotary is tentatively offering this course on Saturday, May 20th, at the Fire House. For information on registration costs and other details, please contact Peter Mason at 449-8711 (daytime).
ALBANY EVENING GARDEN CLUB
The meetings are held at the WC Littles Memorial Park at 7 p.m. New members are welcome.

MENANDS UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Notice is hereby given that the fiscal affairs of the School District for the period beginning on July 1, 2004 and ending June 30, 2005 have been examined by an independent public accountant, Sperry, Cuono, Holgate & Churchill, CPAs, PC, that the report of external audit has been filed in my office where it is available as a public record for inspection by all interested persons. Pursuant to section thirty-five of the general municipal law, the Governing Board of the School District may, in its discretion, prepare a written response to the report and file any such response in my office as a public record for inspection by all interested persons not later than 90 days from the date hereof.

REQUEST FOR TRANSPORTATION- MENANDS UFSD
All requests for transportation to private/parochial schools and high schools including Shaker H.S. and Watervliet H.S. which students will be attending during the 2006-2007 school year must be submitted by residents to the Menands School. Separate request forms must be completed for each child. Written requests for transportation must be made by April of each year. All requests must be completed on an annual basis. Late submission of applications could jeopardize your child's right to transportation. If a child's placement or acceptance at a particular school has not been finalized, return a completed request form in anticipation of attendance. New residents must submit a written request immediately after establishing residence in the district. Application forms are available at the Menands School. All requests must be completed on an annual basis. (Children attending Menands School K – 8 need not fill out a request.) The Completed form may be (1) mailed: Menands School

MOHAWK HUDSON RIVER HUMANE SOCIETY ANNOUNCES 2ND ANNUAL ART SAVES
ANIMALS EVENT
The Mohawk Hudson River Humane Society is pleased to announce plans for its Annual Art Saves Animals Auction and Fundraiser. For the second consecutive year, the event will be held at the Tantillo Gallery located at 488 Broadway in Albany. Albany Mayor Gerald D. Jennings will once again serve as Honorary Chairman. Work from local artists will be on display and bids will be accepted from April 24th - 28th. The Gallery’s hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The exhibit will conclude with a silent auction and reception on Friday April 28th from 5-8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Mohawk Hudson River Humane Society. The event is open to the public and the cost of admission to the reception is $25.00. For more information or to purchase tickets, please
