Any expired or no longer used ammunition may be brought to the Police Department for submission for proper destruction by the approved methods.
ATTENTION RESIDENTS
Chief O’Brien wishes to remind residents that Albany County Sheriff James Campbell has a program available to all Albany County residents with “Special Needs”. That is a County wide registry for disabled residents who are physically or mentally unable to evacuate their homes during an emergency. The registry contains the necessary information on each individual, such as transportation needs, medications, special equipment, diets, etc.. All information collected will be entered in the E-911 system. The registry is strictly voluntary and confidential and is used for emergency purposes only. Should an emergency occur in the county that results in a loss of power or phones, then program will allow responders to instantly identify the needs of individuals requiring assistance from
their residences, including evacuation. Applications can be accessed through the Albany County website, www.albanycounty.com under Sheriff’s Dept. or by calling the Sheriff’s office 233-7522. Applications are also available at the Menands Police Department.
