SPECIAL MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special workshop meeting will be held by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands in the Municipal Building of such Village on Monday, September 26, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the development of a long term plan for the Village including infrastructure improvements, Broadway Corridor and business development over the next 5 to 10 years.
REMINDER TO RESIDENTS
Residents are asked to keep debris and trash out of any creek on their property, as it can eventually clog the storm water drainage system. Thank you for your cooperation with this important matter. Brush and grass clippings are picked up by the Village.
ATTENTION RESIDENTS
Is your house number clearly visible from the street, both during the day and at night. During an emergency seconds
do count, so help out our Police & Emergency personnel to identify your house. Information is available at the Police Station on E911 requirements
ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS
The Menands School PTA is selling the 2005-2006 Entertainment Books at the new discounted price of $30.00 to raise funds for our visiting Author/Artist Program. Sale begins September 16th , but books may be pre-ordered by calling Dianne MacFarland at 253-4925. Remember these make great gifts and we have books available for many out-of-town locations.
HONORING SERVICE PERSONS

MENANDS SENIOR CITIZENS
On Tuesday, October 4, 2005, The Menands Senior Citizens will take a trip to Platz Brauhaus. Cost - $36.00. Join in the Oktoberfest for good German food and entertainment. Please call Arnold at 869-3020 for reservations. Bus will leave Bethany at 7:30 a.m.
In November (date, price and other details forthcoming), we will have a surprise trip to Mohegan Sun. Lots of things to do besides the Casino. This will be an entertaining and possibly lucky trip.
Don’t forget to go on a trip; you must be member of a Club to join us on all our great trips. Join us any Thursday from 10 to 2 p.m. at Bethany Hall and find out all the deatails.
YOUTH DANCE
A Youth Committee dance for Village youth is scheduled for Friday, October 7th at the Menands Firehouse. K-5 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. $2.00; 6th grade & up from 7:30 p.m. –
11 p.m. $5.00. Price includes pizza, drink and music. CHAPERONES welcome and encouraged. Please be aware of parking signs posted around the firehouse when dropping off and picking up child.

The Village Halloween Party will be Monday, October 31st. The parade will start promptly at 6 pm from the Firehouse to Ganser Smith Park, the party will end at 8 pm. The Menands School PTA would like to say a special thank you to everyone who purchased mums from our recent fundraiser. This year was our most successful plant sale ever. The proceeds from this fundraiser help make many of our PTA sponsored events possible for the children of Menands.
MENANDS YOUTH BASKETBALL
Registration for the Menands Youth Basketball Program will be held on Thursday, October 13th and Tuesday and October 18th 6:30 – 7:30 PM at the Menands School – gym entrance.
Village of Menands Boys and Girls in Grades 3 thru 8 are invited to participate. Coaches are needed. If interested, please call program director, Ed Malone at 462-9433.
MENANDS CHEERLEADER TEAM
