PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 7 p.m. for the purpose of presenting the results of a water and sewer infrastructure study performed for the Village in 2003 and 2004.
LENTEN SOUP SALE
Bethany Presbyterian Church is continuing to offer soup for sale during the Lenten season. The next soup, corn chowder, will be available Friday, March 4th. One quart of soup costs $3.50. Pie will also be available at $1.50 per slice. To reserve a quantity of soup, you may call Peggy Pedersen at 785-6061, or fill out a coupon available at the church, or drop in on March 4th. Soup will be available for pick up between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Other soups and pie will also be available on March 18th.
PTA SPAGHETTI DINNER – WED., MARCH 9TH
On Wednesday, March 9th, The Menands PTA will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner at the school from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Prices are Adults $6, Senior $5, Children 3-13 $3 and under 3 Free. Pre-sale tickets are available from any Menands School student as well as at the door. Menu includes spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Eat In or Take Out. Also, before or after you dine, why not try your luck at winning plenty of cool prizes in our Raffle drawing. Come support the children of Menands School. Please be sure that children are accompanied by an adult. If you would like to volunteer, or you would like to donate toward our raffle, please call Dianne MacFarland at 253-4925.

MENANDS JR. BASEBALL & SOFTBALL LEAGUE
Registration will be held on Saturday, March 5th and Saturday, March 12th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Menands School. Umpires and concession stand workers are needed. For more information, call Tom Gibbs at 434-8416.
MENANDS ST. PATRICKS CLUB NEWS
The next 2 meetings of the St. Patrick’s Club will be held at the Menands Firehouse at 12:15 pm on Sunday, February 27th and Sunday, March 6, 2005.
MISS COLLEEN CONTEST
Any Village girl, 9th grade or older, may enter with their parent’s permission. Drawing will be held at the February 27th meeting. Miss Colleen and her court will represent Menands in the Albany Parade on March 12th and host the dinner dance held at the firehouse that evening. Please fill out the entry form below and mail (or drop it off to): Menands St. Patrick’s Club, 250 Broadway, Menands, NY 12204. Entries must be received by February 26th.

REGISTRATION FOR VILLAGE ELECTIONS
Registration for Village Elections will be Saturday, March 5, 2005 from 12:00 noon to 5 p.m. at the Menands Firehouse. If you voted from your current address in the last General Election or in the 2003 Village Election, it is not necessary to register.
PAVILION RESERVATIONS BEGIN
MARCH 1st
Village residents and Village organizations and businesses may reserve the pavilion at Ganser-Smith Park by stopping in the Village Office beginning Tuesday, March 1st at 8 a.m.

Coming Events:
Tuesday, April 12th - Brownstones at Paterson, NJ; we will see the show “Road to Waikiki”. Menu: honey baked ham or chicken cacciatore. Leave Bethany at 8 a.m.. and return after the show. Cost is $40.00. For reservations, please call Gert Kutz at 462-1860.
Monday, May 16th – the Club will take a trip to West Point where we will have a guided tour of the Point, lunch at the Hotel Thayer and a boat ride on the Hudson River. Cost - $48.00. For reservations, please call Arnold Hamm at 869-3020. Departure and return times in the next issue of Activities.
Because of conflicts and cancellations, the general monthly meeting for February will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2005 and the general monthly meeting for March will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2005.
MENANDS FIRE CO. LADIES AUXILIARY
The next regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the Menands Firehouse.
MENANDS FIRE CO. LADIES NIGHT
Menands Fire Company will hold it’s Annual Ladies Night Dinner Dance on Saturday, March 5th. Cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and Dinner at 7:30 p.m. Members may sign up in the firehouse lounge.

The Faith & Values Story Circle of the Capital District will present Stories of Faith at St. Joan of Arc on Thursday, Feb. 24th from 7-9 p.m. Don’t miss this chance to hear some of the area’s best storytellers. Admission is free.
