PAVILION RESERVATIONS BEGIN
MARCH 1st
Village residents and Village organizations and businesses may reserve the pavilion at Ganser-Smith Park by stopping in the Village Office beginning Tuesday, March 1st at 8 a.m.. More information in next Activities.
VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
The next regular Village Board Meeting will be held on the second floor of the Menands Municipal Building Monday, February 7, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. All meetings are open to the public and accessible to the handicapped.
GIFTS OF THE HEART
EVENING & POTLUCK DINNER
Bethany Presbyterian Church of Menands, 21 North Lyons Avenue, invites all village residents to join us for a potluck dinner and evening of fellowship and preparation of Tsunami Victims Health Kits at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12th. For reservations, call Peg Pedersen at 785-6061 or Jean Lamere at 462-9827. Beverages and place settings will be provided.
MENANDS FIRE CO. LADIES AUXILIARY
The next regular monthly meeting of the Menands Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will be February 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Menands Firehouse. After the meeting Bingo will be played, with prizes! Come join the fun!!
MENANDS ST. PATRICKS CLUB MEETINGS
& MISS COLLEEN CONTEST
The next 2 meetings of the St. Patrick’s Club will be held at the Menands Firehouse at 12 noon on Sunday, January 30th and Sunday, February 13th. For more information, call Menands Marshal John McKenna at 434-4166.
Join in the tradition of the Irish and become this year’s Miss Colleen. Any Village girl, 9th grade or older, may enter with their parent’s permission. Marshal John McKenna will pick the winner out of his Top Hat at the February 13th meeting. Miss Colleen and her court will represent Menands in the Albany Parade on March 12th and host the dinner dance held at the firehouse that evening. Please fill out the entry form below and mail (or drop it off to): Menands St. Patrick’s Club, 250 Broadway, Menands, NY 12204. Entries must be received by February 12th.

FATHER-DAUGHTER VALENTINE DANCE
On Saturday, February 5th from 6 – 9 p.m. Bethany Presbyterian Church will host the ninth annual Father Daughter Dance. B95.5 radio personality Chuck Taylor will be the DJ and a professional photographer will record the event. JH Kenny’s Flowers, located on Broadway in Watervliet, is offering special corsage pricing ($10) for the young ladies. Reservations can be made by calling Bob Collen (482-6286) or Duane Averill (427-5135), or by e-mailing dance@nycaprr.com.
The cost for the event is $15 per father. Please make your reservation by February 2nd to be entered into a drawing for a dinner at the Century House. This year, to help keep our costs to a minimum, we are asking each family to bring a snack or dessert to share.

I would like to thank all residents of the Village of Menands for the unbelievable support that you have given my family and me over the past year. Thank you for all the cards, phone calls and the unforgettable welcome-home parade. You have truly made a difference in my recovery, and I am extremely grateful to you all. YOUTH DANCE
A Youth Committee dance for Village youth is scheduled for Friday, February 4th at the Menands Firehouse. K-4 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. $2.00; 5th grade & up from 7:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. $5.00. Price includes pizza, drink and music. CHAPERONES ARE NEEDED! Be aware of parking signs posted around the firehouse.
MENANDS SENIOR CITIZENS
Thursday, February 10, 2005 - Indoor pizza party – 12 noon at Bethany Hall. Cost is $5.00. Entertainment will be provided by RSVP (Rensselaer Seniors’ Variety Performers).
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 - “Finnegan’s Wake”, an Irish comedy at the Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA – Complete corned beef and cabbage dinner. Cost is $43. For reservations please call Pat at 436-8772. Bus will leave Bethany at 9:30 a.m. and return after the show. IMPORTANT: If Menands School is closed on a Thursday because of inclement weather, the Senior Club will also be closed. Check your TV and Radio for information.

High School: February 3, 10, & 17th; March 3, 10, 17 & 31st. 8 p.m.-10 p.m.
Middle School:; February 5*, March 5, 12 & 19th. 9 a.m.
*On days when there are afternoon games, we will end at 11:45 a.m.
