SNOW….SNOW…..SNOW
The Village Crew needs your cooperation.  When the snow starts accumulating, please make sure your cars are parked in your driveways, not on the streets.  If this is not possible, be prepared to move your vehicle when the plow approaches.  Listen to your television or radio for Snow Emergency Announcements. IF A SNOW EMERGENCY IS ANNOUNCED FOR MENANDS, NO PARKING IS ALLOWED ON ANY VILLAGE STREETS.   Violators will be towed!  We pride ourselves on keeping our streets plowed and passable, but cars parked on the streets make our job impossible.
Also, when shoveling snow, please do not throw the snow in the street.
Finally, it is the responsibility of the owners or occupants of a home or business to keep the sidewalks clear around their property.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
AND SCHOOL CLOSINGS
When there is a snowstorm or any weather that might threaten the normal running of the school, residents should tune to WGY, WROW or WTRY radio as well as TV channels 6, 10 and 13 for school closings or late openings.  Also, when school is canceled during the day, after school and night activities at the school are also canceled.  If you have changed home/work phone numbers or emergency contacts, now is the time to call Menands School (465-4561).  If the Menands School is closed due to weather, there will be NO transportation to any school outside the District.  If the Menands School is opening late due to weather, all bus runs will be delayed in Menands.  For example, if the Menands School is opening one hour late, then all buses transporting students outside the district will also be running one hour late.  These procedures are enforced because we feel that if road conditions are such that it is too dangerous to transport pupils to the Menands School, then it is also too dangerous to be transporting students out of the district.
