VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
The next regular Village Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2004. All meetings are open to the public and handicapped accessible.
LEAF VACUUMING CONTINUES
LEAVES ONLY must be raked to the side of the road for pick up. Biodegradable Bags for leaves and grass clippings will continue to be collected.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULES IN THE VILLAGE
The Village Office will be closed on Thursday, November 11th due to the observance of Veteran’s Day and on Thursday, November 25th for Thanksgiving
There will be no recycling pick ups on Thursday, Nov. 11th and Thursday Nov. 25th. Thursdays’ pick ups will be on Wednesdays, November 10th and November 24th . THERE WILL BE NO SPECIAL PICK UP ON THOSE WEDNESDAYS.
BEAUTIFICATION MEETING
There will be a Beautification Meeting in the Menands Village Hall at 7 p.m. on November 10th. Everyone is welcome.
BETHANY’S BAZAAR
Bethany’s Annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 20th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Crafts, knit items, bake sale, Christmas & fall decorations and unique white elephant items will be available. All are welcome!
MENANDS SENIOR CITIZENS
TO SEE CAROL CHANNING
On Monday, November 29th, the Club will travel to the Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA to see and hear Carol Channing in concert. Cost $55.00. Bus will leave Bethany at 9:45 a.m. – Please come about ½ hour before that time. We will return about 5:30 p.m. For reservations, call Flora Caswell at 434-0916. Payment for this trip must be paid by Nov. 11th or waiting list will be used.
On Sunday, December 5th, the Club will hold their Annual Christmas Party at the Menands Firehouse. Menu: Chicken or Prime Rib. Approx. price $18. Time 4:00 p.m. Call Flora at 434-0916.
Please Note: November monthly meeting will be held on Nov. 18th instead of November 25th because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Bingo will be held on the 18th also.
MENANDS FIRE CO. LADIES AUXILIARY
The regular monthly meeting of the Menands Fire Auxiliary will be held at the Menand Firehouse on November 10, 2004 at 7 p.m.
ENTERTAINMENT/VALUES BOOKS
The Menands School PTA is now selling Entertainment Books ($40) and Values Books ($20) to raise funds for our Visiting Author/Artist Program. Remember, these make great gifts and we have books available for many out-of-town locations! Call Dianne MacFarland at 253-4925 or stop in at the Menands School Lobby to order.
PARKSIDE PRE-SCHOOL
Parkside Pre-School in Menands will be hosting an Open House on Veteran’s day, Thursday, November 11th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families are welcome to stop by during these hours to participate in program activities, observe lessons and meet the teaching staff.
Parkside, a licensed pre-kindergarten and daycare center, is located at the corner of No. Lyons Avenue and Menand Road in Menands. Parkside has been recognized as a Child Care Program of Excellence by Cornell University and the New York State Child Care Coordinating Council. We prepare children 2 ½ through 5 for kindergarten. The program is sponsored by Bethany Presbyterian Church, operates year round and is open daily 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The school provides students with breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Monthly field trips and weekly libraary visits complement the program. For additional information, contact Debbie Koumjian at 449-2999.
YOUTH DANCE
A dance will be held at the Menands Firehouse for Village youth November 12, 2004.
K-4 6 – 7:30 p.m. $2.00
5th Grade & Up 7:30 – 11 p.m. $5.00
Price includes pizza, drink & music. CHAPERONES ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED! Please be aware of parking signs posted around the firehouse when dropping off and picking up your child.

MENANDS PUBLIC LIBRARY
Get ready to fall into some good books. On Mondays at 10 a.m., come to the Library for stories, songs, a craft and a snack. Upcoming dates are Nov. 8, 15, 22; Dec. 6, 13 and 20th.
