November 7, 2005
The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands, held on November 7, 2005 was called to order by Mayor John Bishop at 7:00 P.M.

Also attending: Residents Bill Garvey, Jr., Connie Van Buren, Paul Cooney, Joyce O’Brien, Dianne Mac Farland, Brian Rozmerski, Debbie Brady, Reporter.
The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Resident Connie Van Buren inquired about the new Garbage Law, the Clerk informed Ms. Van Buren that he had just received the notice from the Department of State, and letters would be going out in the near future. She also requested that when the Village snow blows the sidewalk that they not put the snow on her lawn. The Mayor stated that the Village would try, but the Mayor said he cannot guarantee it will not happen as safety of pedestrians is the main issue.
Paul Cooney updated the Board on the paving situation of Brookside Avenue and Mountain View, he also discussed the floor drains in the firehouse, and the new water meter replacement in Troy.
Resident Brian Rozmerski discussed the stripping on Broadway and cars parking on Broadway. John Stangle responded on the stripping issue and will ask about a stop sign at the 378 Exit.
A motion was made by Trustee Lane, seconded by Trustee Miller, to accept the minutes of the October 17, 2005 meeting.

A motion was made by Trustee Hagmann, seconded by Trustee Miller, to approve payment for the following:
WARRANT # 11
GENERAL totaling $56,357.61
WATER totaling 3,368.94
SEWER totaling 929.32
$60,655.87
PAYROLL #11 totaling $64,253.10

The Clerk led a discussion concerning the replacement of a check valve at the Wards Pump Station; three (3) proposals were received for furnishing and installing a new 8” valve.
Chip Kronau $2,950.00
Trinity Construction $5,139.00
ANJO Construction $5,250.00
After the discussion Trustee Lane offered, seconded by Trustee Hagmann a resolution accepting the Proposal from Chip Kronau of $2,950.00 to furnish and install a new 8” check valve at Wards Pump Station.

The Clerk led a discussion concerning the proposed franchise agreement with Time Warner. After which Trustee Hagmann requested the Clerk get the revenues for the last two (2) years from Time Warner.
Mayor Bishop stated that before the payment is made to Gallo Construction the Village receive a Final Release of Liens.
Trustee Lane will review the letter from Chief Handerhan regarding address changes for 911 for Glenwood Road and the Apartment Complexes.
The Mayor and John Stangle reviewed two (2) meetings they attended concerning the flooding issues at 550 Broadway.
Trustee Hagmann thanked everyone that volunteered for the Halloween Party and Parade everything went well.
Trustee Miller discussed the proposal for a new Qualities Communities Grant he and John Stangle were working on and that they would have a resolution for next meeting.
Trustee Grenier mentioned that Wednesday Night there will be a Benefit Concert at Menands School with all proceeds going to purchase Calling Cards for active members of the Military from our community. Trustee Grenier invited everyone and asked everyone to help spread the work.
A motion was made by Trustee Lane, seconded by Trustee Grenier, to adjourn.
