The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands, held on July 16th, 2007, was called to order by Mayor Thomas G. Coates at 7:00 P.M.
PRESENT: Thomas G. Coates, Mayor
Megan Grenier, Trustee
Timothy A. Lane, Trustee
Mark Lansing, Trustee
Ronald H. Miller, Trustee
William T. Smith, Jr., Clerk-Treasurer
Paul C. Reuss, Exec Assist to Mayor
Stephen Rehfuss, Village Attorney
Also attending: Jim Long, Don Bucher, Bill Garvey, Paul Cooney, Dave Archambault, Joan Oakes, Bill Wallens and Tim Boyd.
The Mayor led the Pledge to the Flag.
Don Bucher inquired as to the tractors and other vehicles on the old cleaners lot at Brookside Avenue and Broadway and that it was blocking access to the mailbox. The Mayor and Paul Reuss addressed the issue assuring Mr. Bucher the Village is doing what it can do.
Jim Long inquired as to the purchase of the trees for Menand Road. A lengthy discussion was held after which the Clerk will review the minutes as to the prior motion.
A motion was made by Trustee Lane seconded by Trustee Miller to accept the minutes of the July 2nd, 2007 meeting.

A motion was made by Trustee Lane seconded by Trustee Grenier to approve payment for the following:
WARRANT #4
GENERAL totaling $68,897.45
WATER totaling 9,450.67
SEWER totaling 460.86 Total $78,808.98
PAYROLL #3 totaling $65,944.48

The Clerk reminded the Board of the Special Meeting to be held on Thursday, July 19th, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
Trustee Lane inquired as to what could be done about the flooding that happened on July 10th on Louis Avenue. There was a lengthy discussion with Mr. Archahambault showing pictures and giving a brief history of his situation.
The Mayor asked Paul Reuss to set up a meeting with the Cemetery and Paul Cooney stated he would look for some old plot plans to help determine the ownership of the land.
The Clerk discussed filing with the State for some grant money for the Youth Program Trustee Miller said he would help with the paperwork.

At 8:45 P.M. Trustee Lansing moved seconded by Trustee Grenier to enter into Executive Session.

The regular meeting reconvened at 10:26 P.M.
A motion was made by Trustee Lansing seconded by Trustee Lane the following: A resolution to hire Police Officer Tim Savery to fill one of the vacant positions with one year probation and at step two of the salary table.

A motion was made by Trustee Lane moved seconded by Trustee Lansing to adjourn the meeting.
