The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands, held on January 16th, 2007 was called to order by Mayor John Bishop at 7:00 P.M.

William T. Smith, Jr., Clerk-Treasurer
Stephen Rehfuss, Village Attorney
Paul Reuss, Exec Asst to the Mayor
Also attending: Bill Garvey, Tom Coates, Kevin Miller & Elizabeth LaPoint.
Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.
A motion was made by Trustee Hagmann seconded, by Trustee Lane, to accept the minutes of the January 2nd, 2007 meeting.

A motion was made by Trustee Lane seconded, by Trustee Miller, to approve payment for the following:
WARRANT # 16
GENERAL totaling $69,869.79 WATER totaling 11,835.28
SEWER totaling 1,268.22
TOTAL $82,973.29
PAYROLL #16 totaling $61,484.11

A discussion was held concerning the 2007 Community Development Grant – applications need to be submitted to the Town by February 23, 2007. The Clerk will check on whether court security items are allowed for the grant.
There was a discussion concerning a letter from ASCAP requesting a fee of $280.00 the Board agreed not to pay the fee.
A discussion was held on the Repeat Offender Law after which Trustee Miller introduced Local Laws # 1 – 19 for 2007. A public hearing was scheduled for 7:00 PM on February 5, 2007.
The Clerk advised the Board that he had received two (2) quotes to repair the Fire Department Ladder Truck. After a discussion the Clerk was requested to get the cost of replacing the cylinders from one of the Bidders so that the bids could be compared.
The Clerk reminded everyone of the Mohawk Hudson Village Officials Meeting January 28th in Ravena and the NYCOM Legislative Conference in Albany in February.
The Clerk also advised the Board that New York Leak Detection has been hired again to review the system due to the larger than anticipated amount of lost water.
The Mayor requested a copy of the Fire Company Audit be given to the Board along with the items still owed the Board per agreement with President Molinaro and Chief Primo.

A motion was made by Trustee Hagmann seconded, by Trustee Lane to adjourn.
